Jill Lagos Shemin is serving as project manager for the USAID-funded Financial Inclusion: Assessment of Opportunities for Use of Digital Financial Services for Smallholder Farmers study.

brings much interdisciplinary experience to the team, most specifically in the field of digital technologies and the digital economy in frontier markets, as well as in agriculture.Jill brings a keen desire to work with digital models that work at the interface of service delivery to bottom of pyramid, and the interdisciplinary experience to support it. Her work in digital tools and mobiles has consistently focused on the scalability of models and solutions, and leveraging mobile as a tool for scalable delivery of financial products to un-served and excluded populations.

She brings experience in digital finance and telecom sectors and has experience across the sector, from user uptake and research, to stakeholder engagement and strategy, to assessing the enabling environment. She has overseen research in mobile money and displaced populations, and ICT solutions for agriculture in various developing nations. In other aspects, she has grown her network with the local start-up community in Dakar and worked with local start-up incubators especially advising on pitching and growth opportunities.
