Dr. Mike Horia Teodorescu is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. His background is in both computer science and economics and he combines in his research machine learning, natural language processing and the economics of knowledge creation and sharing.
Mike received his B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard University and holds a doctorate from Harvard Business School in Strategy. Mike’s prior industry experience covers several patents, Microsoft products, and work at startups.
Role in the study Appropriate Use of Machine Learning in Developing Country Contexts: Leads impact assessment as it relates to the ML evaluation methodology design. Manages the relationship of the grant team with a research site abroad, assesses the implications on people and organizations of the use of machine learning in the context of employment and explores ethical issues. Supervisor of the behavioral economist.
