The Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) Rudi Project is leading an evaluation with the support of CITE on affordable packaging technology using food grade materials that are environmentally friendly and extend the shelf-life of stored products. The packaging technology is meant for pre-packaged “kits of spices and pulses, distributed to their network of women for resale in rural communities in India."
CITE’s role within the evaluation includes, advising on research methodologies, assisting in developing a research plan, liaising with MIT faculty, staff, and students, as well as aiding in the purchase of packaging technologies and interviewing manufacturers and other stakeholders. CITE will also be involved in facilitating field research and reporting to sponsors on behalf of SEWA and the Rudi Project.
